      2)初二的学生不仅在知识上有了一定的积累,心理上较初一成熟,而且还需要培养阅读的能力为初三打基础,所以在初二学生中开展以经典和时尚热点相结合为教材的阅读课程。首先教师根据自己学生的特点选择一些适合他们的文章,无论是报刊杂志还是课文都可以,但是一定要贴近学生的生活实际和生活,并把这些材料按不同内容编排成册。然后以课时一个单元的方式给学生授课,并注重学生对文章的理解。对学生进行泛读和精读的方法指导,尤其是技巧上的指导。让学生在阅读中体会理解这些方法技巧,并掌握它们。每月进行一次阅读理解的摸底调查,以便更好地进行评价。

      3)初三学生在英语的知识方面已经有了两年的积累,对中西习俗有了一定的了解,但需要细化,了解中西习俗差异,要求我们学生要根据不同场合、对象、话题、身份等使用恰当得体的语言。

       另外,对英语文化的了解和理解有利于加深对本国文化的认识,培养爱国注意精神,有利于提高人文素养。并且还有非常重要的学业考试要准备,所以结合以上的特点,在初三学生中开发以写作为主的课程。教师就以下方面指导学生。

     认真审题,确定体裁;根据题目要求,理解要表达的要点。

     设计好文章的层次段落,考虑所用时态、人称等,把要点串联起来,构成文章框架;

     在要点、层次明确的情况下,选用自己最熟悉的单词、句式进行造句,如果不会用复杂句就用简单句表达要点,注意主谓语一致、人称、数量、大小写、标点;

     仔细阅读全文,查找是否有错,注意时态、单词拼写、字母大小写、标点是否有误,句式是否正确,逻辑是否一致。

don't understand the God who'd let us meet if we could never be together.

When they ask me what I liked the best,I'll tell them "It was you".

I would rather have had one breath of her hair,

one kiss of her mouth, one touch of her hand than an eternity without it.

I have a feeling there's something bigger out there.

Bigger than we and bigger than you.

I wait all day just hoping for one more minute with you.

2.Titanic

Jack

Jack : Listen, Rose. You're going to get out of here. You're going to go on. You're going to make lots of babies, and you're going to watch them grow. You' re going to die and old, an old lady in her warm bed, not here, not this night, not like this. Do you understand me?

Rose: I can't feel my body. Jack: Winning that ticket (for Titanic at a poker game) Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you, and I'm thankful (crying) you must (shivering) ...you must ... do me this honor. Promise me that you'll survive, that you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me, now, Rose, and never let go of that promise, never let go. Rose: I'll never let go, Jack. I'll never let go, I promise.

Today we celebrate our independence day! Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. we will be united in our common interests......you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression or persecution. But from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist......as the day when the world declared in one voice "We will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight. We're going to live on. We're going to survive." Today we celebrate our independence day!

WILLIAM WALLACE"Fight, and you may die. Run, and you'll live at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now. Would you be willing to trade? All the days from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our Freedom! Freedom——

Why do you confide in me like this? What are you and she to me? You think that because I'm poor and plain, Ihave no feelings? I promise you, if God had gifted me with wealth and beauty, I would make it as hard for you to leave me now as it is for me to leave you. But He did not. But my spirit can address yours, as if both have passed through the grave and stood before heaven equal.

Do you understand me?

Rose: I can`t feel my body.

Jack: Winning that ticket (for Titanic at a poker game) Rose, was the best thing

that ever happened to me. It brought me to you, and I`m thankful (crying) you

Rose: I`ll never let go, Jack. I`ll never let go, I promise.

JACK Don`t do it.

[She whips her head around at the sound of his voice. It takes a second for her eyes to focus. ]

ROSE Stay back! Don't come any closer!

[Jack sees the tear tracks on her cheeks in the faint glow from the stern running lights. ]

JACK Take my hand. I`ll pull you back in.

ROSE No! Stay where you are. I mean it. I`ll let go.

JACK No you won't.

ROSE What do you mean no I won`t? Don't presume to tell me what I will and will not do. You don't know me.

JACK You would have done it already. Now come on, take my hand.

[Rose is confused now. She can`t see him very well through the tears, so she wipes them with one hand, almost losing her balance. ]

ROSE You`re distracting me. Go away.

ROSE Don`t be absurd. You`ll be killed.

JACK I'm a good swimmer.

[He starts unlacing his left shoe. ]

ROSE The fall alone would kill you.

JACK It would hurt. I'm not saying it wouldn't. To be honest I'm a lot more concerned about the water being so cold.

[She looks down. The reality factor of what she is doing is sinking in. ]

ROSE How cold?

JACK

[taking off his left shoe]

Freezing. Maybe a couple degrees over.

[He starts unlacing his right shoe. ]

JACK Ever been to Wisconsin?

ROSE

[perplexed]

No.

JACK Well they have some of the coldest winters around, and I grew up there, near Chippewa Falls. Once when I was a kid me and my father were ice-fishing out on Lake Wissota... ice-fishing's where you chop a hole in the--

ROSE I know what ice fishing is!

JACK Sorry. Just... you look like kind of an indoor girl. Anyway, I went through some thin ice and I'm tellin' ya, water that cold... like that right down there... it hits you like a thousand knives all over your body. You can't breath, you can't think... least not about anything but the pain.

[takes off his other shoe]

Which is why I'm not looking forward to jumping in after you. But like I said, I don't see a choice. I guess I'm kinda hoping you'll come back over the rail and get me off the hook here.

ROSE You're crazy.

JACK That's what everybody says. But with all due respect, I'm not the one hanging off the back of a ship.

[He slides one step closer, like moving up on a spooked horse. ]

JACK Come on. You don't want to do this. Give me your hand.

[Rose stares at this madman for a long time. She looks at his eyes and they somehow suddenly seem to fill her universe. ]

ROSE All right.

[She unfastens one hand from the rail and reaches it around toward him. He reaches out to take it, firmly. ]

JACK I'm Jack Dawson.

ROSE

[voice quavering]

Pleased to meet you, Mr. Dawson.

[Rose starts to turn. Now that she has decided to live, the height is terrifying. She is overcome by vertigo as she shifts her footing, turning to face the ship. As she starts to climb, her dress gets in the way, and one foot slips off the edge of the deck.

She plunges, letting out a piercing shriek. Jack, gripping her hand, is jerked toward the rail. Rose barely grabs a lower rail with her free hand.

Quartermaster Rowe, up on the docking bridge hears the scream and heads for the ladder. ]

ROSE help! help!

JACK I've got you. I won't let go.

1.A:Have you ever experienced an unforgettable event?

B:Yes,I have, that's one of the most wonderful memories in my life.

A:What did you experience?

B:I witnessed that chinese national football team got the qualification for the 2002 world cup on October 13,2001.

A:What did you see?

B:Because my home is very close to the Tian'anmen Square.I saw everybody was celebrating happily and excitedly. There were cheers and shouts in the streets.

A:Did you join the crowds?

B:Of course.I walked on the streets with my family for a while. The traffic was terrible. The streets looked like a parking alot and can't move at all.But it seemed that nobody care it at all because they were all losing themselves in the excitement and enjoyment that our football team brought us.

A:Sounds really awesome.

B:yes,it definitely is.

A:I hope chinese football team could give us that feeling again in the future.

B:I hope so,too.

2.

In your opinion,is part-time job good for university students?why?

Yes,I think so because university students can practise their practical ablility and social experience through working with other people and they can learn how to get on well with their workmates in their workplace. Moreover, they can possibly earn a certain amount of money to afford some things they want to buy instead of getting money from their parents all the time.Even they can buy some stuff for their family members to show their love for their families. But,they should control the working time in order to not let it have a bad influence on their study and university life. So,if university students can allocate their time well,to find a part-time job is very good and beneficial to them

Topic6 interesting events

The whole of anything. Meaning behind it: the lock, stock, and barrel are the three parts of a rifle.

Example:““Our new manager wants to reorganize the entire operation, lock, stock, and barrel.”

Perhaps oddly, it came into use only in the early nineteenth century, when such weapons had been in use for nearly three hundred years (the flintlock musket had been introduced early in the seventeenth century). Perhaps it was a result of standardised industrial processes that had by then only recently been perfected. This might have crystallised the idea of a musket as a set of interchangeable parts rather than a device all of a piece. It was also true that the American War of Independence and the Napoleonic Wars saw more flintlock muskets in use (the Brown Bess, for example) than at any time before or since.

The first reference in the Oxford English Dictionary is to a letter of Sir Walter Scott’s of 1817: “She wants stock, lock, and barrel, to put her into repair”. It may in fact have been invented by him.

Topic8 A history of Mother's Day

"MOTHER,"

A word that means the world to me

A history of Mother's Day By HOLLY HILDEBRAND Houston Chronicle Interactive

The first celebrations in honor of mothers were held in the spring in ancient Greece. They paid tribute to Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. During the 17th century, England honored mothers on "Mothering Sunday," celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent.

In the United States, Julia Ward Howe suggested the idea of Mother's Day in 1872. Howe, who wrote the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic, saw Mother's Day as being dedicated to peace.

Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia is credited with bringing about the official observance of Mother's Day. Her campaign to establish such a holiday began as a remembrance of her mother, who died in 1905 and who had, in the late 19th century, tried to establish "Mother's Friendship Days" as a way to heal the scars of the Civil War.

Two years after her mother died, Jarvis held a ceremony in Grafton, W. Va., to honor her. She was so moved by the proceedings that she began a massive campaign to adopt a formal holiday honoring mothers. In 1910, West Virginia became the first state to recognize Mother's Day. A year later, nearly every state officially marked the day. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed Mother's Day as a national holiday to be held on the second Sunday of May.

But Jarvis' accomplishment soon turned bitter for her. Enraged by the commercialization of the holiday, she filed a lawsuit to stop a 1923 Mother's Day festival and was even arrested for disturbing the peace at a war mothers' convention where women sold white carnations -- Jarvis' symbol for mothers -- to raise money. "This is not what I intended," Jarvis said. "I wanted it to be a day of sentiment, not profit!"

When she died in 1948, at age 84, Jarvis had become a woman of great ironies. Never a mother herself, her maternal fortune dissipated by her efforts to stop the commercialization of the holiday she had founded, Jarvis told a reporter shortly before her death that she was sorry she had ever started Mother's Day. She spoke these words in a nursing home where every Mother's Day her room had been filled with cards from all over the world.

Today, because and despite Jarvis' efforts, many celebrations of Mother's Days are held throughout the world. Although they do not all fall at the same time, such countries as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and Belgium also celebrate Mother's Day on the same day as the United States

Topic9 Hobbies

My Hobby

I am a 15-year-old student in junior Grade 3. Though I am occupied with my study(占满了时间,很忙), I would like to spend time on my hobbies, such as reading , playing basketball, surfing the Internet.

One of my favourite hobbies is reading. Reading has been in my life for many years, since I began to learn characters. It can not only kill the time(打发时间), but also, more importantly, help improve my comprehension ability. When reading, I can learn a lot. Reading Shakespear’s works, I know how Hamlet looks like. Reading Socrates, I can see how great ancient Greek philosophers are. Reading the articles of Lu Xun, I come back to the old time of China.

  Reading really affects my life

(A)

A: Good afternoon, John!

B: 1______________, Li Wei.

A: I hear you are going to Kunming for a winter holiday.

B: Yes, I’ll go next week.

A: 2____________________________?

B: It’s neither too cold nor too hot. It’s warm there.

A: 3____________________________________.

B: Thank you.

What’s the weather like in Kunming? / How is the weather there? Have a good time./ Have a good journey./ I’m sure you will have a good time.

(B)

A: Hi, Peter! How are you today?

B: 4__________________________________. And you?

A: I’m OK. Are you free tomorrow?

B: 5__________________________________?

A: We’re going to the park. 6____________________?

B: Of course. I’d like to go with you. 7___________________?

A: We are going to meet at the school gate at one o’clock. Please be there on time.

B: OK. Thank you.

第4个空应该是回答对方的问话How are you today? Fine, (I’m fine.) thank you. 5个空紧接问句Are you free tomorrow? Yes, why?/ Yes, what’s up? 6个空是个问句,因为句末是问号,其答语是:Of course. I’d like to go with you. Would you like to go with us?/ Will you go with us? 7个空又是一个问句,其答语是:We are going to meet at the school gate at one o’clock. Please be there on time. When and where are we going to meet?/ When and where shall we meet?

(C)

A: Dad. I can’t find my socks. 8__________________?

B: Let me see. Are they white?

A: Yes. 9______________________?

B: I saw them in our sitting-room just now. You may go and get them.

A: Oh! Here they are!

B: You should put your things away.

A: 10____________________________________.

Dad. I can’t find my socks. Where did you see them?/ Where are they? Yes, I will./ OK, I will. / OK, I won’t do that again.
